The Public Works Department (PWD) – Roads and Bridges, through the Chief Engineer, Ujjain Zone, PWD, invited a tender for the widening and upgradation of the Melkheda to Chandwasa–Dharmrajeshwar road. This important corridor spans a total length of 16.00 km and is a critical route within the Mandsaur Division.
The project involves transforming the existing road into a stronger and wider carriageway, ensuring smoother traffic flow and improved connectivity. Alongside structural enhancements, the scope of work also includes the provision of electrification works, which will ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability for commuters, especially during nighttime travel.
The financial bid was opened on 29th August 2025, under the supervision of officials from the Ujjain Zone. Various contractors participated, with proposals evaluated on technical and cost-effectiveness grounds.
After evaluation, the lowest bid was submitted by Heera Ram Godara, marking him as the successful L1 bidder for this project. His bid met the required standards and offered the most competitive value.
The total value of the project is ₹22,39,59,112.2, reflecting the government’s commitment to road modernization and better connectivity in the region.
