The Public Works Roads Department (PWRD) of Assam has put out a tender for an important infrastructure project—building a Road Over Bridge (ROB) at the busy junction of LBT Road and NH-37 in Lahowal. This new bridge will replace the existing Level Crossing (LC) Gate No. DD-21, which has been a spot for traffic delays and safety concerns.
The project will be funded on a 50-50 cost-sharing basis between the central and state governments, ensuring a strong financial backing. The bidding process was competitive, and the financial bids were opened on February 3, 2025.The lowest bid was submitted by M/S Competent Infrastructure & Consulting Pvt. Ltd., offering the most cost-effective solution for the project.
With an estimated project value of around INR 49.14 crores (₹491,400,000), this ROB is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion, improve road safety, and boost connectivity in the region. It’s a step forward in modernizing Assam’s transport network, making daily commutes smoother and more reliable for everyone.
